USAF General Joins Air Exercise Over Savannah

COMBAT READINESS TRAINING CENTER, Savannah, Ga. Feb. 4, 2014 – Lieutenant Gen. William Etter, commander of the 1st Air Force, conducts a pre-flight check on his F-16 fighter jet on the ramp at the Combat Readiness Training Center during Sentry Savannah 2014. Lieutenant Gen. Etter participated in the simulated air battles in the skies over the Georgia coast with his former unit, the 158th Fighter Wing of the Vermont Air National Guard.

Sentry Savannah, the largest air combat exercise of its kind, is hosted by the Georgia Air National Guard’s CRTC, one of only four CRTC in the nation and the only CRTC with ramp space capable of servicing fifth generation fighter jets such as the F-22 and F-35,
